Fort San Miguel. Built to protect the Villa San Francisco de Campeche from pirates and mercenaries during the nineteenth century, the city already had an immense wall, but it was necessary to defend it from the outside.

Description:

During the 19th century, Campeche was attacked by pirates who stalked the sea, this building had the objective of defending the city. Currently, pieces from different Mayan cities such as Calakmul are on display.

This bulwark is evidence of wars between pirates and citizens of Campeche on the coast in the Yucatan Peninsula.
