The department of culture in Yucatan offers the public different activities and free shows from Monday to Sunday all year, if you visit Mérida any day of the week you can enjoy the following:

Monday
La Vaquería:
The ballet of the municipality of Mérida represents the Pueblo festivities that were born in the 18th century when cattle ranching was the main source of wealth in Yucatán, admires regional clothing and music in action for an hour, regional dances are paused by verses known as “BOMBS” and stories from the region.

Tuesday
Musical remembrances:
Accompanied by the atmosphere, the market of Santiago and the park dance to the rhythm of danzón, mambo and chachachá since February 14, 1984, when music began to be played in this esplanade.

Tuesday of trova:
Since March 14, 1999, every Tuesday at the auditorium “Dr. Silvio Zavala Fenced at the Olimpo Cultural Center, this concert was created to spread traditional Yucatecan music with interpreters from the city.

Cemetery walk:
Guided by Wilbert Sosa with his extensive knowledge of tombs, mausoleums and details of the place, he will show the tombs of illustrious and anecdotes of the people who were important in Yucatan.

Remembering is living:
A space to dance with varied music in the Centennial Park where the city’s zoo was later established.

Yucatecan Serenade:
More than 40 years ago in the Santa Lucia park, homage to the Yucatecan serenade, trova or sung poetry is paid; Every Thursday a stage is placed in this park where a mix of dances, music and verses is presented that will make you spend a pleasant culture time.

In the heart of Merida on Thursday:
A few blocks from 60th Street are closed to become a fun space, they place restaurant tables, play live music, various food stalls and desserts haunt the street.

Friday
Ball game:
Representation of the ball game practiced by the Mayan culture in ancient archaeological sites, the representation consists of a game of this game and the players wear Mayan clothing.

Mexican night:
Sample of Mexican folklore, music, costumes and regional dances with guests from other states of the republic, a platform and chairs are placed to appreciate the show, around you will find food stalls and desserts.
