Oxkintok [archeological mayan site] Yucatán Mx

Oxkintok archaeological site, its name means: three cutting suns; comes from the Mayan word and is composed of 3 words: ox (three), kin (day or sun) and tok (flint stone) is now known as the city of three cutting flints.

It has an age of almost 2000 years, its buildings had an architectural evolution over time, this archaeological area has 12 architectural complexes.

How to get

How to get to Oxkintok z. Archaeological in public transport:

Take a bus or bus to Maxcanú, it can also be to the town Opichén, when you reach either of these two villages you will have no choice but to take a transport commonly called moto-taxi to the archaeological zone and agree with him an hour back to go and look for them because no one passes by.

From the city of Mérida you must drive south to find the exit of the road to Campeche, you can reach it by driving on the peripheral ring and the circuit colonias avenue.

Immediately after leaving the city follow the signs to Campeche and stay tuned for the signs that say “Maxcanú” because you must go to this town to get to the archaeological zone oxkintok.

In the southern part of this town you will find the old road that leads to another town called Calcehtok and between these two towns is your destination; you better ask the inhabitants if you go in the right direction because it is a little complicated to find this old road.

As you drive over the old road, the section will take on an old look and then the road will be dirt road until you reach your destination.
