How to get to the Copoya viewpoint by public transport:
From the center of the city you can take a “combi” (collective transport van) that circulates on the south road and then take another bus that goes up the hill to the Copoya locality, this is a bit complicated if there is another easier way in which you will enjoy more, which we will explain.
Take a tourist bus (turibus) to the Copoya viewpoint in the Jardim de la Marimba park located on the central avenue between 9th and 8th streets on the west side and north; This bus is only to take people to the viewpoint, their tours are every 15 or 30 minutes ($ 30.00 MXN), once in the viewpoint you can ask if the turibus will make more transfers so you can spend more time enjoying and returning at the last time, otherwise the turibus only stays 20 minutes and returns to the park.
How to get to the Copoya viewpoint by car:
Drive on the south road, heading East (East) where you will see the signs to Copoya (as a reference you can take the supermarket Aurrera on the corner), turn right to climb the hill, on the climb after driving 2km you will find the lookout.

Meaning of the name:
Copoya is interpreted as “Place of a full moon” in the Zoque language.
Copoya is a locality inhabited by the Zoque ethnic group, between the years 1486 and 1505 the Aztecs (Mexicas) dominated the region, changing some names of cities and towns, however Copoya retained its original name.
