How to get

How to get to Cenote Yax-ha public transport:

Take a bus to the town of Muna ($ 30 aprox) from the ORIENTE terminal and ask the driver to stop at the edge of the road, so you can descend and walk to the Yaxcopoil locality.

When you arrive at Yaxcopoil (locality) take a taxi (tricycle-motorized) that takes you to the cenote Yax-ha near Cacao (locality).

Possibly the driver of the moto-taxi will take you to the entrance where they charge access, because the road to the cenote from the entrance is 2km and is full of stones, if the driver does not agree you will have to walk.

Remember to agree with the driver of the moto-taxi one hour back so that he will go for you, otherwise you will have to wait for someone to pass by the road and be willing to take you.

How to get to Cenote Yax-ha by car:

From the city of Mérida, drive south on the Itzáes avenue (the same one that leads to the airport) and follow the signs to Umán (municipality near Mérida). Upon arrival in Umán, follow the signs to another municipality called Muna, and to the middle of the road between these two destinations you will observe on the road a sign pointing to Cacao (town).

When you get to Cacao, which is a small town, cross as if you were going to the next town called San Antonio Mulix (here are other cenotes), between these two you will see a small house of sticks with a sign that says “cenote yax-ha” and From there you will travel 2 km of dirt road to the cenote.
